Prepping for Heart Day

I didn't put many vals out this year but did take some to Anna's class, where the kids were fascinated. They asked so many good questions, and Ms. Nolan asked if I could stay longer since they were so interested in learning about the history and reading the funny valentine sayings on the old cards.

Nanna sent MJ a valentine outfit for her Bitty Baby.

While working on their class valentines today, the kids' personality differences really shined! Anna was diligent, thoughtful and efficient, making sure each valentine was neat and had a special message. She had her eyes on the prize -- finishing the task -- and didn't say much (except things like, "Mom, hurry up and cut that envelope for me!"). MJ, on the other hand, would punch out a few valentine cards, take a break to sing and run around the table, sign her name on a few, tell a joke and giggle like mad, throw a few cards around, etc. Her high point was standing on her chair, turnning around and mooning us. Happy Valentine's Day!

Very cool that you went to Anna's school to talk about your Valentines. Maybe you could roadtrip down here and give it to me. I love funny sayings. xoxox
